Oh My Kink

Cookie policy

Last updated Oct 3, 2026

The short version: the app sets five small cookies that it needs to work, and nothing else. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing from any other company. That's why you don't see a cookie banner: there's nothing to choose.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Ours are all first-party (set by this site, read only by this site), HttpOnly (scripts in the page can't read them) and SameSite (other sites can't send them). None contains your name, email or password, and none follows you anywhere else.

A shop you open from Where to get one is another site, and so is any affiliate network its link passes through: each has its own cookies, set there and never here; nothing from any shop loads on this site.

The cookies

NameWhat it's forSet whenLasts
omk_sessionKeeps you signed in. It holds a random token, never your email or password. When you sign in or create an account.30 days
omk_dRemembers whether discreet mode is on, so the sign-in screen and the app icon look the same before you sign in.When you sign in, when you change the setting in Us → Settings → Profile, and when a device that had discreet mode on opens a link from the old address. That link can only turn it on, never off.365 days
omk_leagueRemembers which league you looked at last, so the tabs open it.When you open a league.365 days
omk_themeRemembers whether you chose Light or Dark on this device. It holds that one word and nothing about you. When you choose Light or Dark in Us → Settings → Appearance. Choosing Match my phone removes it.365 days
omk_event_artRemembers that you turned event backgrounds off on this device. It holds that one word and nothing about you. When you choose Off for Event backgrounds in Us → Settings → Appearance. Choosing On removes it.365 days

Signing out removes the sign-in cookie. Deleting your account removes it and the discreet-mode cookie. The light-or-dark cookie stays on the device until you choose Match my phone or clear the browser's data: it is how the sign-in screen keeps the look you picked.

Other things kept in your browser

  • omk_push_nudge. One flag in local storage, set when you dismiss the "turn on notifications" nudge, so it stays dismissed.
  • omk_whatsnew_1. One flag in local storage, set when you tap Got it on the card about the app's new look on Home, so it doesn't show again.
  • App files (cache). The app's own scripts, styles, fonts and icons, cached so it opens quickly and works as an installed app. No personal data.
  • Passkeys. If you add Face ID, Touch ID or a passkey, the private key lives in your device, never on our server. We keep only the public half and the device name you gave it.
  • Push subscriptions. If you turn on notifications, your browser keeps the subscription. We keep its address and keys so we can send to it, and the browser's name so you can recognise the device in Us → Settings → Notifications.

Your choices

Every cookie here is strictly necessary, so Canadian privacy law lets us set them without asking first; the only choice is to use the app or not. You can still clear or block them in your browser's settings. Without the sign-in cookie you'll be signed out, and without the others the app forgets your preferences. Removing the site's data from your browser also removes the cached app files and the notification subscription for that browser.

How we handle everything else is in the privacy policy.
